The Ceres Highland Games, Scotland's oldest free games was held on Saturday 29 June 2024. This marks our third year sponsoring the fantastic family-fun event, which is led by kind-hearted volunteers within the Fife community.
The historic games has been held in Ceres every year (except for war), since 1314.
It was an enjoyable day in the sunshine, thousands of people came along to enjoy traditional pipe music, Highland dancing, wrestling, heavy weight events and cycling and running races.
Standout events this year included a competitive 5000m cycling race and 56lb throwing competition. Round the Bow Butts there were lots of stalls, and food and drink tents for all to enjoy.
Paul Denton, CEO at Scottish Building Society, said: “The Games celebrates the very best of traditional Scottish sports and music, as well as positive community collaboration which is why we at Scottish Building Society are very proud to support it.
“Congratulations to the winners. It was an amazing festival celebrating the local community, it was great to see colleagues from Scottish Building Society helping out on the day. We're proud to have played a small part in putting it together.”
