We’re delighted to announce that we’re expanding our partnership with Edinburgh Rugby to include front-of-shirt sponsor of the women’s team. We’ve taken this step to further our commitment to the club and support the growth of women’s rugby in Scotland.

Our partnership has a firm focus on inclusivity through various community programmes, including our Inclusive Festivals that highlight rugby is a sport for everyone regardless of ability. Our walking rugby tournament is also celebrated for its accessibility and ability to bring together people of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities.

We believe that extending the partnership to support the women’s team and promote women’s rugby as a whole is the perfect step to showcasing that rugby is a sport for all.

Stepping up to being front of shirt sponsor for the women’s team comes at an exciting time as Edinburgh Rugby will take on Glasgow Warriors in the Celtic Challenge 24/25 this Friday at the Hive Stadium.

Paul Denton, Chief Executive Officer, Scottish Building Society, said:

“Having been main sponsor of Edinburgh Rugby for three years now, we’re thrilled to extend our support to the women’s team. It’ll be exciting to see our name on shirts as they kick off the new season.

“Our partnership with Edinburgh Rugby extends beyond that of main club partner and we have launched some brilliant initiatives, including the inclusive rugby festival and our Tackle Maths programme, which is designed help children to learn maths and get active outdoors. It’ll be fantastic to get the women’s team involved in this initiative, further reinforcing the message that rugby is open to all.”

Claire Cruikshank, Edinburgh Rugby Women’s Team Head Coach, added:

“It’s fantastic to have the support of Scottish Building Society as we embark on our second-ever season.

“Their backing is a significant boost for our team and shows the positive trajectory of women’s rugby. We’re excited to represent Scottish Building Society on the pitch as we kick-off the new season in just a few days.”
