The Scottish Building Society Inclusive Rugby Festival took place on Saturday 20 April, and was a special day for everyone involved. Almost 100 players from around Scotland came together with a great display of community and teamwork.
The winner, Edinburgh Inclusive Team, were crowned champions during a fantastic halftime ceremony at the Edinburgh Rugby v Scarlets clash.
The teams took part in a parade around the Hive Stadium pitch in front of a bumper crowd, cheering them on as they raised awareness of the importance of inclusive rugby.
Their passion and love for the sport was very clear to see. It was a very special day for the players, coaches and their families.
Paul Denton, CEO Scottish Building Society said: “I’m thrilled to have been a part of the Scottish Building Society Inclusive Festival. It was an honour to meet the teams and present the winners, Edinburgh Inclusive Team, with their well deserved trophy.
It was a special moment seeing the teams take part in their lap of honour in front a supportive crowd. I hope the tournament encourages people to look at rugby differently, it really is a sport for all.”
