We're proud to celebrate our 175th anniversary this year. That’s 175 years of helping people buy their own homes by offering attractive savings rates. As part of our celebrations, we’re holding events and competitions throughout the year aimed at giving back to the communities that have supported us since 1848.
We recently ran a unique competition to find a rugby fanatic named Hamish to win the fantastic prize of being a mascot at the Edinburgh Rugby v Leinster match last Saturday, 4 March. We teamed up with Edinburgh Rugby star Hamish Watson and our own mascot Hamish to search for the third Hamish to complete the trio.
The winning Hamish was age nine star player from Stirling County who’s passionate entry stood out. He met the Edinburgh Rugby squad and lead them onto the pitch at the DAM Health Stadium, as well as getting an exciting tour around the Scotland Team's dressing room in BT Murrayfield.
Watson said: “I absolutely loved meeting Hamish and Hamish, and it was brilliant to see the youngest Hamish lead out the team against Leinster in front of packed out DAM Health Stadium."
“A massive thank you to Scottish Building Society for organising this competition – it was awesome to see so many kids get involved and support the club.”
We hope Hamish had a great experience and that it inspires him to keep playing rugby.
