We’re proud to have backed Edinburgh Rugby’s Club Appreciation Night on Friday 7 October. To support the community initiative, we provided tickets and transport to pupils from Gala Academy for the night fixture against Emirates Lions at DAM Health Stadium.
Scottish Building Society arranged for the full class of Gala Academy students to travel to the Scottish capital where they’ll see the Edinburgh Rugby players pull on the socks of their childhood clubs as part of a wider celebration of the grassroots game.
Scottish Building Society Chief Executive Officer Paul Denton said: “Club Appreciation Night is one of the highlights of the Edinburgh Rugby calendar and really puts into perspective the role of youth and amateur rugby clubs across the country.
“People aren’t always aware of the number of club heroes who attend the event. Volunteers from clubs across the country are invited along and celebrated for their contribution to the game – it’s great to give back to these unsung heroes of rugby.
